Holiday Lake 10k, 25k and 50k is a great first time mid-distance or ultra trail race! The course consists of a loop circling Holiday Lake, utilizing country roads and trails. The weather ranges from sunny and pleasant to cold with a foot of snow. The 50K is the first event in the Lynchburg Ultra Series.

History
Holiday Lake 50k was founded in 1996 by ultra-running legend, David Horton. Having grown exponentially over the years, from 71 the first year to over 300 runners in recent years, the race has kept a local, community feel. It has earned a reputation as a great first ultra-distance race for runners looking to test their limits. After directing the race for 25 years David Horton has passed his race director role to Brenton and Jamie Swyers.
